Green Woodworking, Traditional Timber Framing, Roundwood framing and Log Building
We use traditional wood working methods to create traditional or contemporary structures for private or public spaces.
We are open to all enquiries and after consultation can provide design ideas, drawings, estimates and ultimately construction and installation.
Structures can be built onsite or in our workshop. Framework only or ‘turnkey’ finishes can be supplied depending upon requirements.
Arborantics aims to promote and improve our relationship with the environment using traditional and contemporary carpentry techniques in an original, informative and creative way.
We specialise in the construction of innovative, recreational/educational spaces and installations for public and private locations. From green woodworking craftwork to individually designed timber buildings/structures our products combine traditional techniques with contemporary vision and a sustainable connection to the land.
Green Woodworking involves using freshly cut, unseasoned wood to create beautiful and functional items. The essence of green wood allows for precise shaping and crafting using hand tools, resulting in individual creations that highlight the natural beauty of the material. This approach minimizes waste and reflects a harmonious relationship with nature.
Whether you’re looking to learn more about these practices or bring them into your project, we’re here to share our knowledge and passion for carpentry and woodcraft that stands the test of time.
Traditional Timber Framing
Traditional Timber Framing is an age-old method of constructing buildings using large milled or hewn timber joined together with mortise and tenon joints, secured with Oak pegs, this technique produces structures that are not only visually stunning but also durable and environmentally responsible. Each frame tells a story, blending craftsmanship and heritage.
Roundwood Framing
Roundwood framing and log building draws inspiration from various cultures and historical periods. Using carefully selected logs, this construction style creates rustic, enduring homes and structures that feel at one with their surroundings. Each log is carefully shaped and assembled to maximize strength and natural aesthetics, embodying the spirit of sustainability and tradition.
